Joey Fourroux, Practice Manager

While working at my first veterinary hospital, I met Dr. Kayla Dougia fresh from getting her degree in 2001.  After years of watching her develop her skills, I was honored when she asked me to join her team in 2012 after finally deciding to follow her dream and open her own clinic. I am so excited to start this new journey as Practice Manager after many years of working in the field. So far it has been challenging and rewarding and I'm looking forward to building great relationships with our clients and their furry ones.

The opportunity to work with caring clients in improving their pet's lives is an amazing feeling.  Nothing feels as wonderful as seeing that one patient that was seriously ill, who everyone is rooting for, rally and make a full recovery and then leave our doors with a wagging tail or purring in its owner's arms.

Briana Swaim, Veterinary Assisstant

Hi, My name is Briana Swaim.  I started working in the vet field in 2009 as a kennel technician.  It was then that I decided that my calling in life was animals.  I am currently in school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  I love all pets and have had many throughout my life.  I love Meripets mainly because the relationships I have formed with the other staff and the ones I can form with our clients and their pets.  I love being able to help animals when they are sick to get better.  I also love healthy visits and watching them grow from babies to senior patients.  I got married in 2012 to Justin and we have a little girl name Brinlee.  I currently have two pets, Trigger, a yellow lab and Lucy, a yorkie mix.  I'm looking forward to meeting all our client and the relationships we build.

Kym Hamley, Certified Veterinary Assistant

In June 2016 I finished my vet assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center. I knew I always wanted to work with animals ever since I was little.  I would take stray animals in and nurse them back to health by feeding them and making sure they had a warm place to sleep.  I am excited to be given the opportunity to work at Meridianville Pet Hospital and apply my care giving skills.

Celina Frizzell, Receptionist

Hi! I am so happy to be part of the MeriPet team. The road that led me to my current vet family began about 16 years ago when I felt the call to help homeless dogs and cats. I started by volunteering with the Greater Huntsville Humane Society and soon became a full time staff member. I loved that time and learned so much but wanted to learn and help more. I began working as a veterinary technician 14 years ago. Besides learning more than I ever thought I would, I got to meet some pretty amazing patients and some amazing pet owners, too! I took a hiatus after my first daughter was born, then after the birth of my second daughter, I have decided to finally finish my degree. While in school, I have joined Meridianville Pet Hospital as a part time receptionist. In addition to being a full time student and a mom of two, I am a mom of a 12-year-old fur baby, Walker. I love all three of my babies, but if I have to spend time away from them, I can’t think of a better place to do that than here at Meridianville Pet Hospital!

Lauren Goodwin, Certified Veterinary Assistant

My name is Lauren. I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from Buckhorn High School. I have always loved animals and have taken care of my two dogs, Snickers and Harley, for the last 11 years. I wanted to carry my passion further so I enrolled in Ross Medical Education Center in 2016. I am now a Certified Veterinary Assistant and am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Dougia, her staff, and all of our amazing patients!

Emily Edwards, Kennel & Veterinary Assistant

I have had a love for animals all my life and always knew I wanted to work with them.  In 2006 I started my first job working in the veterinary field as a kennel technician.  While working at that clinic I met Dr. Dougia. I have three dogs, Lt. Dan, a mix, Snow, a spitz (both adopted while working at my first clinic) and Nala, a chihuahua.  I am so excited to be a part of the Meripet staff and I am looking forward to getting to know each client.
