Kayla Dougia, DVM
Dr. Dougia has over 20 years of veterinary experience and previously worked as a relief veterinarian in Madison County before establishing her own practice, Meridianville Pet Hospital, in December 2012. A native of Louisiana, she earned her BS in Psychology from LSU (1994) and her DVM from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine (2001). She specializes in feline medicine and also enjoys canine care, particularly with Golden Retrievers. She is a member of AVMA, ALVMA, MCVMA, and IVPA. Outside of work, she enjoys football, socializing, dancing, and fitness, and shares her home with rescue animals including a Golden-Basset mix named Tasso and three rescue cats.

Joey Fourroux
Joey met Dr. Kayla Dougia in 2001 and joined her team in 2012 when she opened her clinic. "The opportunity to work with caring clients in improving their pet's lives is an amazing feeling."
Katie
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. My family used to call me “Ellie Mae” and say you could find me rolling around in the mud with a dog!When I was younger, I had the pleasure of working at a pet store. It was there that I discovered I had a passion for educating customers on pet care needs. I began working in veterinary medicine in 2011, and in 2018, I decided to attend Jefferson State Community College, where I earned my veterinary technician license. I have a special passion for client education, surgery, and nutrition.At home, I share my life with my husband, three cats, two Beagles, and a German Shorthaired Pointer. Outside of work, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, hiking, and roller skating.
Emily
From Indiana, Emily moved to the area in 2019. She holds a journalism degree from Ball State University and has experience in grooming and doggy daycare before joining veterinary medicine in 2023.
Kym
Kym completed her veterinary assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center in June 2016 and has wanted to work with animals since childhood.
Lauren
A Huntsville native and Buckhorn High School graduate, Lauren enrolled at Ross Medical Education Center in 2016 and cares for two dogs, Snickers and Harley.
Monica
Monica brings three decades of hands-on veterinary experience and emphasizes compassionate, practical, and patient-centered care.
